Consecutive Years Giving Summary?

Options

@Maya Rosman @Sunshine Reinken Watson , copying your question here to a new topic:

“I just saw in the Query in Web View documentation that Consecutive Years Giving summary fields aren't moving to web view. This is actually pretty important to us (and I'm guessing to others). Can you share why this isn't moving, or if there might be room to move it in a future update? This is information that's difficult to get other ways and it would be very valuable to be able to continue to have it in query.”

We came to this decision based on low usage of Consecutive Years Giving across customers as a whole. With that said, we're still open to feedback for consideration moving forward.

Can you confirm - does the Consecutive Years Report give you the same results (though in report form of course)?

For me, having consecutive years giving summary in query is so much more about having it as an output field than a criteria field. There is literally no other way to output this information in RE in a way that's useable and flexible enough to include any other data points we'd want. The report is fine if all I need are the outputs in the report, but the report doesn't give me constituent code, so if I need to see consecutive years with any other data, it doesn't really help me because I can't even use excel functions to match constituents with their consecutive # of years.

    # of years of giving and consecutive years of giving is one of the biggest weaknesses in terms of reporting out in RE. You can see it in webview in a couple of places, but you cannot output it anywhere there. In database view, you can grab the report, which can be set to FY or CY, but you can't see it in relation to other data points. In query you can pull it out, but only for CY, not for FY. None of these are ideal, but it's even less ideal to remove one of the very few ways to access this information.

@Maya Rosman, thanks for elaborating! I'll keep this in mind as we continue to build on the query features based on feedback.

I concur with @Maya Rosman that consecutive years as an output with other data that is not on the canned report is an issue. I have also used consecutive years giving as criteria when building lists of potential monthly donors and potential planned giving donors for appeals and outreach.
