Recurring Gifts in 2024, new campaign in 2025

Hi Alex, I am wondering if there is a best practice to change recurring donations to the next year's campaign. For example, in 2024 we had three campaigns: Mission Trips, Fundraising, and Staff Support. We did not distinguish the year. I now need to make sure I can add goals for the Development Officers at the campaign level. To do this, it is my understanding that I need to create campaigns for 2025 so the year is taken into the consideration and the goals section on their work center are correct. You will make an amendment to the Recurring Gift (template) for the CFAP (campaign, fund, appeal, package).

Though I do not think it is a good idea to to have separate campaign just to “isolate” year of giving, as that can be easily accomplished by Gift Date.

As far as tracking goal, there are multitude of ways to do so, for example:

In regards to the goal section in a fund raiser's work center, does it automatically just show “this year” or would it show all $s for the campaign if the campaign spanned multiple years. I am seeking to assign a goal to each fundraiser. Is there another or better way to do this?

if your intent is to set goal for each fundraiser, then all the more reason why you shouldn't change campaign and use the “goal” field in campaign. This “goal” in campaign applies to the WHOLE campaign. Unless you want to do “Campaign 2025 Fundraiser A” “Campaign 2025 Fundraiser B” etc etc.

@Alex Wong Hi Alex, thanks for helping me with this. This is the section I am wanting to update for a Development Officer. We were instructed by BB to use three campaigns, Fundraising, Mission Trips, and Staff Support, but with a date for each one. But in 2023 I changed it to just the three campaigns without dates, in order to keep from doing an annual update. But, I think that decision impacts the opportunity to populate this section. I have now used the same campaigns for two years. This area is populated from Database view in my constituent file with specific $ amounts for a fundraiser. Would this section only look at the annual numbers and not two years of data towards a fundraiser's goal? Thanks!
