When will Pay Method, Card Type, Gift code, Mailing ID, and Finder Number fields be available?

Options

Hi Anthony,

We receive credit card gifts from direct mail that our direct mail processor handles externally. We currently import “Credit Card” as the pay method and include the card type. Will these fields be available for import for credit payments not processed through BBMS?

We also use the Gift Code, Mailing ID, and Finder Number fields but they're not on the gift record in Gift Management. Will those be added at some point?

Thanks,

Denise

I am seeing a couple of these (payment method, gift code) available today in the POST Gift endpoint. Others (Card type) is not something we have planned as we do not have a field on the record for that, it is something our payments team stores for us. And some (Finder number, Mailing ID) that should be coming in Q1 once we do the work to support add/edit workflows on the Gift and marketing codes tile.

  • @Anthony Gallo So if Gift Code is coming (something we are really missing) will it be available in batch and as batch default (what is now the first row) When do we think it is coming as I'm doing work arounds currently and am super excited.

Once we get to a release state on our new grid view batch work, that field will be available and it will be able to be defaulted. Timelines are still up in the air but we are trying our hardest to get something releasable in the middle half of 2025.

  • @Anthony Gallo Thanks Anthony! I'll keep up my work arounds with great cheer that it is only temporary!

  • Wouldn't you agree that for NXT it's really all or nothing. All fields would need to be available if you want to transition to a NXT-only product, and I just don't ever see that happening with the pace it is now, respectfully. These fields are core and very important and solicitors need a full picture of their donors, even how they pay is important. If so many fields are not sync'd now, and NXT has been around for a good while, I wonder if it will ever happen.

I do agree, especially when it comes to batch. I hope our delivery over the past 6 months and plans shown in our most recent product update briefing show that we are accelerating at a pace we have not done before and fully focused on getting to the finish line.
