Missing Appeals

Options

Hello! We were trying to create a query today in web view and the criteria included an inactive appeal code. There were other inactive appeals that appears just not the one we needed. When would all of these become available?

Also, it would be nice if there was an option to toggle display inactive appeals similar to Database view.

@Karen Jimenez, this was an oversight in our initial implementation. I've added this to the backlog and we'll get it included.

  • @David Springer Great, thanks so much!

@Karen Jimenez, we're planning this change now… Which record types are most important to you as we prioritize the work? I know Appeals, but assume funds and campaigns as well? How about events, opportunities/proposals, and constituents?

@Maya Rosman @Irene Hui @Pamela Bird and anyone else who uses this - I'd love to hear which record types you need to include inactive for.

  • @David Springer
Definitely would want to be able to include inactive constituents! For us, Appeals and Funds are the most important after that. I almost never query on Campaign, but that's probably pretty unique to us. I'd imagine others do query on campaign.

Opportunities/proposals are also probably important to a lot of folks. We aren't making great use of this part of the system in my shop, so it's less important to me, but I'm hoping that changes for us soon!

I also need to be able to query on any inactive attribute/custom field table entry. I haven't tested this to see if these are currently available in webview query, but I use these a lot when doing clean-up. I agree with Karen that the ability to include inactive or not as a choice (say, a checkbox) when selecting from a table would be ideal. I do not always want to see these entries, but it would be great to be able to see them when needed.

@David Springer I agree with @Maya Rosman that appeals and funds are important. Events (like units, benefits) would be, too. We are not heavy on opportunities use, but hope to change that. It would be great if address info source code have the toggle switch for inactive. Thanks! :)

  • @David Springer yes Events, opportunities/proposals and Constituents please.

@Irene Hui @Maya Rosman , to be clear, we're specifically looking at the “search fields" here. So when you're selecting Fund/Appeal/Campaign ID, and you search for a specific record, DBV has an “Include inactive” checkbox whereas web view currently does not.

Table entries, custom fields, and other field types aren't included in what we're evaluating right now. We're looking at a gap we missed from DBV, not including inactive where it's not available in DBV.

  • @David Springer Yes – appeals, funds, campaign, constituents, events and opportunities are also important for us. In addition to that, attributes are something we use quite frequently here, so it would be great to include those as well – even those ones that are no longer active.
