Section 2 - Position Overview

The accounting specialist assists in managing and overseeing various aspects of our company's financial operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, providing insights for the company’s financial planning, and continuously improving our processes.

Section 3 - Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Records & Reports:

- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records using FENXT, RENXT, and Quickbooks accounting software.

- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and reports.

  • General Ledger & Reconciliation:

- Manage the general ledger and sub-ledgers and conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.

  • Tax Compliance:

- Assist outside CPA in preparing and submitting regulatory documents.

- Assist in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

  • Accounts Payable:

- Assist in processing accounts payable activities, ensuring timely processing of disbursements.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting:

- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.

- Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for adjustments.

  • Internal Controls & Compliance:

- Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines.

- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

  • Audit Coordination:

- Coordinate with external auditors and contribute to fulfilling annual audit requests.

- Address and rectify any discrepancies or issues identified during audits.

  • Continuous Improvement:

- Actively seek and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.

- Stay updated with the latest non-profit accounting standards.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team by encouraging innovation and feedback.

Section 4 – Qualifications

- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

- Proven experience in non-profit accounting requirements and practices.

- Minimum 5 years experience.

- Strong proficiency in Blackbaud Financial Edge accounting software required; experience with Quickbooks Online preferred.

- Advanced MS Excel skills.

- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Section 5 - Compensation, Benefits, and Environment

- Target salary: $55,000 - $65,000 based on experience, competencies, skills, and culture fit.

- Vacation: 2 weeks

- Paid Sick Days: 10

- Physical Setting: Office, in person

- Work schedule: Monday to Friday

- Ability to Relocate: Fort Worth, TX 76123 (Relocation required before starting work)
