BBCON 2024 virtual sessions

Options

Does anybody know if there are virtual sessions for BBCON for those of us who do not attend? How does one register for this? Will there be recordings of sessions after the event? Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • @Audrey Katzman, it looks like they are offering virtual sessions again this year! You can register on the bbcon website HERE and there is an option for Virtual once you provide an email and create a password. Once you register, you can access your agenda which you can filter for sessions being livestreamed. Also, some sessions will be available to watch on October 15 according to their website. I am assuming they will make them available only through the end of the year like they did for bbcon 2023. View the Frequently Asked Questions page for more virtual session information.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but don't get too excited about the offerings. They pick and choose which sessions will be available. The mainstage / welcome is going to be streamed live today, but I'm pretty sure that is the only livestream option.

Virtual attendance usually leaves me a little more frustrated than fulfilled in any way, but the cost is making it very difficult to justify.

  • @Karen Diener I agree. The cost now makes it hard to justify. I would like it if we could pay something for a virtual pass that actually gave us some value. I can see the value of being in person and networking. I have attended 7 BBCON's in the past and always learned something there - and they were also a lot of fun. My current organization doesn't allow for one professional development conference a year like my last one did, but I'm sure that I could justify paying for a virtual pass that would allow me to watch at least most of the sessions from my office.

  • @Audrey Katzman sessions (not all I'm sure, just some) will be available October 15 to watch/listen.

Pre-Covid the Virtual Pass was available for like $200 and there were quite a few sessions available live, along with MainStage/keynote and closing. Then Covid made it free. And now they just have pushed the virtual off to the side it feels. Go back to a small fee and give virtual folks the live at the same time as everyone else so that virtual folks are not left out of the vibe.

  • @Karen Stuhlfeier
see my comment - they used to have a fee for virtual and you watched live with everyone else. Covid killed it apparently.
