Fundraising Associate (Full-Time)

Position Summary

The successful Fundraising Associate will provide strong database management and support Park Day School’s fundraising efforts, communications, and volunteer management.

This position will report directly to the Director of Development. The Fundraising Associate must display impeccable attention to detail, strong project management, data entry and management, sound judgment, and organizational skills, and uphold strict confidentiality when managing donor and school information.

General activities include gift processing, acknowledgment letters, mailing/emailing communications, events, donor reports, and other activities such as supporting volunteers and alumni relations.

Essential Functions

  • Manages the Development Department database in Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge
  • Produces solicitation letters, gift acknowledgment letters, volunteer caller sheets, and various mailings. Projects include annual fund, Read-a-Thon, capital campaigns, and additional fundraising and development activities
  • Manages all gift/pledge processing and acknowledgment functions for the Annual Fund campaign, capital campaign, the Read-a-Thon, and all other donations
  • Designs and/or generates reports, charts, and spreadsheets relative to fundraising tracking and management
  • Responsible for inputting all useful or relevant data into the database
  • Supports full calendar of Development Department events including tracking guestlists, creating name tags, and staffing events as needed
  • Supports an alumni database clean-up project at the direction of the Director of Development
  • Works closely with the school’s business office to reconcile monthly financial reporting and preparation of year-end audit reports
  • Generates data lists for annual reports and other documents as needed
  • As a member of the administrative team, may be assigned a weekly drop-off, lunchtime, or pick-up supervision duty

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years or more database experience required; Blackbaud (Raiser’s Edge/Financial Edge) experience preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a not-for-profit environment. Experience in schools preferred
  • Strong computer skills are essential (Google Suite. MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Internet) and ability to learn new programs when needed
  • Must have a high level of organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Must maintain absolute confidentiality in handling confidential information and files
  • Excellent communication skills are a must: listening, verbal, and written. Must be able to effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents in a clear, concise, and pleasant manner at all times
  • Ability to solve problems, independently, in an ever-changing environment; high degree of flexibility and adaptability
  • Must have an open, positive attitude and enjoy working in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment where a diversity of opinion is valued and encouraged

Working Environment

The position will work out of the school’s campus in Oakland. The working hours will be consistent with regular business hours, 8 hours per day, with a starting time between 8:00-9:30 am and an ending time between 4:30-6:00 pm. Exact working hours will be determined by the Supervisor and documented. This position may require evenings or weekend hours as needed for events or special projects. This position is in person on campus. There may be some opportunity for periodic remote work, to be scheduled with the Supervisor. Compensation

$28-$33/hr DOE
