the genesis of Alex Wong

Alex, did you come to nonprofit work from business/industry, bringing a vast knowledge of Power Platform? Or did you have a programming background, and learned Power BI and Power Automate? Or a completely different origin story?

    @Lauren Henderson
    I did come to nonprofit from from years of being a programmer for a software company, but not experience with Power Platform. I am ~2 years in since learning to use Power Platform (automate, bi, app)

    My background with programming did help make Powe Platform easier to learn, however, I do not think it should deter anyone from doing it.

    As most likely people that will do this work are database manager, i think this group of people already have the needed talent: understanding of data structure in RE. The remaining knowledge is more about learning the inner-workingness of the power platform and “figuring it out”. There are many power automate tips and tricks on the Community as well as bbdevdays. I encourage anyone learning to read and watch them. I will be doing a power automate tips and tricks session in BBcon as well, hoping to get people working in power automate to the next level.

  • @Lauren Henderson oooh the Alex Wong origin story!

  • @Crystal Bruce You know I love a good origin story!
