PA and SQL connection

My question is – how have you set up your sql connection to PA. I managed to get it working with a gateway, however it looks like Execute a SQL query in PA is not supported with a gateway

I use Azure SQL Server, so connection is through URL provided on the Azure service.

I have not setup gateway to a locally or 3rd party hosted SQL instance, so am not going to be of much help to you there.

So the Azure connection above is the one you have, not the top SQL connection?

my SQL instance is Azure SQL Server.

PA connection is SQL Server (the red icon), not Azure SQL Data Warehouse

Thanks Alex, I keep getting bad gateway when i try to setup a connection, which authentication type are you using?

Do you have any other tips with what looks like it might be a permissions thing- maybe some settings on the SQL side?

we use SQL Server Authenitcation.

I don't have any other tips on this, you will need some help from your IT team to properly set the connectivity up
