Options

Feature Summary
Release: Fall '09

Author: Noel Beebe

Overview

TeamRaiser participants often request the ability to include the name of their address book contacts in mass emails they send from their Participant Center.  This feature provides the opportunity for participants to use personalization to automatically include the first name of each address book contact in emails they send from their TeamRaiser Participant Center.

Use Scenario
Sally registers for an event using TeamRaiser.  Once she registers, she is prompted to visit her Participant Center and send emails to her friends and family asking for support.  In the Participant Center, she uploads her Yahoo! address book to create contact records with names and email addresses for people she already counts as her contacts.  She crafts her email and clicks the checkbox to include a personalized greeting.  She sends the email to every contact in her address book.  When they receive the email, each contact will see their name in the greeting of the email message (for example,  “Dear John” or “Dear Mary.”)

Key Features

  • New Advanced Option (a.k.a. Event Data Parameter or EDP) to allow email personalization to appear in the Participant Center on an event-by-event basis
  • New checkbox to include a personalized greeting when sending an email from the Participant Center Email
  • Added personalization to Participant Center emails so each recipient will see their name as the addressee of the e-mail (for example, “Dear Mary”)
  • Default text provided if no name is present (“Dear Friend”)
  • Message Catalog entries to allow clients to change the default “Dear” and the default “Friend”
  • Ability for participants to preview the email and view the salutation before sending the email
