Associate Director for Annual Giving - Regis High School

Position
As an Associate Director for Annual Giving, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to work at a school with approximately 530 exceptional, gifted young men, talented faculty, and committed staff. Located in New York City, Regis High School is a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory school and the only Jesuit, full-scholarship high school in the country. The school was founded in 1914 through the extraordinary generosity of an anonymous woman and her family. Regis now relies on the philanthropy of alumni, parents, and friends as its most significant source of financial support. Regis is committed to both academic excellence and fostering a spirit of generosity and service to those in need. Position Summary
Regis High school seeks a mission-driven and strategic leader to play an important role on its Advancement team. The Associate Director for Annual Giving is a fundraising and marketing expert who ensures the success and growth of our annual giving program. This person takes ownership of: creating programs and program themes that will drive fund growth; thinking strategically about target audience segments and how best to reach them; and focusing on the importance of both donor retention and donor acquisition.
Job Responsibilities
- Direct the school's Annual Fund campaign from launch in the fall to its close on June 30th. Develop a cross-platform strategy that targets the school's alumni, families, and friends. Draft an Annual Fund theme that brands the campaign each year. Oversee the execution of all campaign elements and tactical initiatives over the course of the year, including Giving Tuesday and Giving Weekend mini campaigns.
- Budget development, monitoring, and reporting and oversee monthly and quarterly progress reports on the Fund.
- Ensure the timely acknowledgement of gifts as well as their proper recognition: supervising the work of the Advancement Coordinator and Database Manager to ensure that gifts are entered properly and reconciled with the Finance Department and acknowledged properly. Prepare donor recognition and financial reports for the school's Annual Report.
- Organize and motivate Class Fund Chairs: ensure that each class has a chair and provide each chair with timely reports, encouragement, and tools he can use in soliciting gifts from classmates.
- Continue a new initiative of managing parent annual fund ambassadors.
- Assist in organizing and attending Advancement Office events that foster in-person contact with donors.
- Collaborate with Events Manager and Auction Chairs on gift entry and receipt for annual Parent’s Benefit.
- Maintain relationships with a view to cultivating and stewarding annual gifts.
- Oversee prospect research efforts alongside the Advancement Coordinator
- Work closely with the Database Manager to reconcile monthly with the business office, oversee annual database rollover, and follow best practices to ensure a clean database.
- Supports and is willing to advance the Catholic and Jesuit mission of the school.
- Works in collaboration with the administration in observing the principles and ideals for which Regis High School stands.
- And any other assigned tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
- Understanding of and a passion for Regis’s mission of educating young men in the tradition of the Society of Jesus including a respect for and understanding of Regis’s Jesuit and Catholic culture.
- A self-starter with the ability to initiate and follow through on new programs and projects both alone and as part of a team.
- A leader and team player with the ability to lead and contribute to Advancement Office projects. This includes coordinating with colleagues to achieve desired outcomes, prioritizing short- and long-term tasks, and tracking and reporting on progress to goals.
- Strategic, creative, and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to engage with a diverse group of individuals.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge or a similar CRM is preferred.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Google suite.
- Some evenings and weekends are required for this position.
- Demonstrated organizational and project management skills along with the ability to multi-task with great attention to detail.
Education & Experience
A bachelor's degree is required. A degree in business, communications, liberal arts, non-profit management, or other related field is preferred. Evidence of continuing professional education through conferences, seminars, or professional associations is preferred.
Status
This is a full-time role that requires evening and weekend availability.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range $80k, Commensurate with years of experience and level of success in the institutional advancement area, eligible for most benefits immediately.
Other expectations
A willingness to work at times outside the normal school day and weekends.
