Important Notice for Clients Using TeamRaiser with customized PC2

Options

There have been many improvements made to TeamRaiser's Participant Center 2 (PC2) as part of the Summer 10 Release.  As a result of this work, many of the files used in PC2 have been changed.  These changes may cause issues with any customizations that you have put into place in your own PC2 and could result in your PC2 not functioning as desired after the upgrade.

To avoid issues with PC2 after the upgrade, if you have made any customizations to the files in your PC2 directory, Convio recommends that you follow these instructions to set up an independent instance of PC2 that will not be affected by the Summer 10 upgrade, and to configure your events to use this independent instance:

1. Login to your Convio Site's FTP server

2. Make a copy of the "pc2" directory and give it a new name.  This name could be related to the event that uses this instance of PC2, such as "FunWalk" or "Run2010".

3.  Update your TeamRaiser Event Configuration to point the event to the copied directory from step 2:

    a. Log in to your Convio site as an administrator.

    b. Edit the TeamRaiser that will use this custom PC2.

    c. Click Step 3 "Select Event Options".

    d. In the Related Actions (at bottom left), click "Edit Advanced Options".

    e. Click Step 3d "Configure PC2".

    f. For Participant Center 2 Enablement, click the corresponding checkbox.

    g. Scroll down to the Override page fields (about #9).

    h. For each page, enter the path to that page in the copied directory.  Example: if you named your copied directory "FunWalk", you would enter "../FunWalk/dashboard.html" for a new dashboard page.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Convio Support.  We also recommend that if you customize your PC2 instance, that you adhere to our .

  • I think, with the latest, release while you can still configure PC2 this way, you'll want to do it in the Participant Center Interface. See the documentation here
