Thanks for this documentation.  Will this change have any impact on the behavior of user-facing checkboxes that are used to update e-mail interests in surveys?  I assume that a checked box will still be considered a "subscribe", but will an unchecked box be considered "unsubscribed" or "no preference"?

Hi Eric,

Very good question.

This change does not impact on the behavior of constituent-facing checkboxes on Survey forms.  You assume correct -- a checked box will still be considered a subscribe.  To answer your second question -- in Surveys an unchecked box will also still be considered an unsubscribe.

How will the 'no preference' behavior impact default interests?  I'm guessing that default interests cannot have 'no preference' assigned, is that correct?

Hi Jennie,

Correct -- a default interest will not have the option of being assigned no preference.  "Subscribed" and "Unsubscribed" will be the only assignment options for these types of Interests.
