The Director of Advancement is responsible for securing major gifts of $25,000+ in support of the strategic needs of the University, specifically the College of Health Sciences. This person will collaborate with numerous internal and external stakeholders, including their respective unit's assigned Dean and/or faculty member(s). This person is responsible for implementing fundraising strategies related to major gifts, including identification, qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects, focusing on fostering positive, professional, and ongoing relationships with high-capacity and emerging major gift donors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Develop and execute a plan to connect donors to the University through the active use of the development process, including solicitation of major gifts.

- Responsible for securing major gifts aimed at meeting the strategic goals of the University of Indianapolis, its programs, disciplines, and the University, with an expectation of raising a minimum of $1M in gifts annually.

- Responsible for securing a minimum of 120 visits annually with donors and prospects with a minimum of 50 visits to be discovery visits.

- Identify and establish personal contact with current and prospective major gift donors whose interest and financial capacity have the greatest likelihood of strategically meeting the University fundraising goals.

- Collaborate with appropriate advancement and academic staff to develop prospect strategies and build relationships.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- 2 – 5 years of face-to-face fundraising experience with a proven track record of securing gifts.

- Bachelor's degree required.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, including the demonstrated ability to communicate well in writing and speak before groups.

- Knowledge of finance, planned giving, alumni engagement, corporate relations, and advancement communications preferred.

- Ability to travel across the United States as needed.

- Valid Driver’s License.
