AVS response

I'm running the report writer and using the field AVS Response field.  In the resulting csv we get 2 letter responses (ex NY).  I know from the Convio help files that the n means no match on address or zip and y means exact match on address or zip - so what does NY mean?

Is there a way to know whether it's address getting the n or zip code getting the n?

NY means that only the zip/postal code matched.
