FLSA Status: Non-exempt (hourly)
Schedule: Part-time (50% FTE, 20 hours/week)
Reports to: Associate Director of Annual Campaigns & Grants
About the role:
Join our collaborative advancement team at San Diego Jewish Academy (SDJA) and help be a key player in supporting a robust development plan, filled with creativity and support. If you are a friendly, resourceful individual with outstanding administrative and people skills, and have experience managing a CRM, we want to talk to you about the possibility of becoming our part-time Advancement Coordinator. As the backbone of our development operations, you will manage the school’s donor database and all aspects of processing and acknowledging donations while providing administrative support for the school’s fundraising programs through your excellent organizational abilities.

You will be kept busy with:
- Managing and maintaining the school's donor database, ensuring accuracy and completeness of donor records.
- Processing gifts and donations in a timely manner, including gift acknowledgment and donor recognition.
- Generating and distributing regular reports on fundraising progress, donor trends, and campaign results to inform decision-making.
- Providing administrative support for fundraising events, including logistics coordination, communication with vendors, and volunteer coordination.
- Collaborating with the Advancement team to develop and implement fundraising strategies and initiatives to meet fundraising goals.
- Assisting in donor stewardship activities, including communication, recognition, and engagement efforts to cultivate lasting relationships with supporters.
- Supporting the creation of fundraising materials, communications, and appeals to engage donors and enhance fundraising efforts.
- Additional duties and projects as assigned.

A bonus if you speak Spanish and/or Hebrew!

Schedule & Working Conditions:
You will work a part-time schedule year-round during business hours Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm as determined in collaboration with your supervisor. There may be times when you will be required to work outside of these hours for events and programs.
You’re adaptable to various physical tasks: standing; sitting; walking; using your hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. Your mobility and strength enable you to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Effortlessly, ensuring you can handle tasks like moving supplies with ease. You will be working in a busy and occasionally noisy environment that is typical in a school setting.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 2-4 years of equivalent experience.
- Experience in database management in a non-profit setting, experience in Raiser's Edge or a similar CRM required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with donors, volunteers, and colleagues
- Proficiency in fundraising software and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices and principles in the context of an educational institution is a plus.

Compensation:
The anticipated range for this position is $26 to $30 per hour. The offer to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and years of experience; training; practical knowledge; and education.
