Using Multiple Online Express Forms Simultaneously

Options

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with using multiple Online Express Donation Forms at once. Currently, we have one form that we populate onto multiple pages in our website, but some program staff would like to be able to customize the donor interactions, fund designations, etc. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with multiple forms and can offer any perspective. Our current form was set up before my time with the org so I'm not sure how smooth integration and all that is. Thanks!

  • @Katherine Stein We use several OLX donation forms. The email notifications come to us with the title of each form in the subject line. All transactions for all the forms show up in one queue for Donations. It works really well for us. Some of the donation forms we use for membership too - all seems seamless to me.

    @Katherine Stein I have had many OLX forms active at a given time, and it works very well. I've used it so that on a specific web page we can drive donations to that page's program. Or, things like having a greater focus on monthly giving on certain links. To maintain it, I've found it helpful to use a good descriptive naming convention so that when the gifts come in, you know where they are coming from. When you batch OLX gifts, there is a batch field to show the Form Name, and that will be on the gift attributes.

    The only caution I have is - you will need to just be mindful of what you have active at any given time so that you update them when needed.

  • @Aldera Chisholm Thank you! Do all the forms populate gifts into the same online express “download transactions” back end batching system?

    @Katherine Stein
    multiple forms is definitely ok as others have stated.

    however, depending on your intent, maybe you don't need multiple. As you can have one form that allow for multiple fund designation already, unless your “reason” to have multiple form is so that different appeal will be used (cannot be done by user's selection on the form).

  • @Katherine Stein all the forms populate gifts into the same online express “download transactions” back end batching system - YES

  • @Alex Wong Thanks! Our program staff would like variations of the form where their program's fund designation is the default option. Currently, we are populating one form onto every programs donation page so the default is always “most urgent need” and program staff have received feedback that potential donors or donors find it cumbersome to select the correct fund from the drop down.

    @Katherine Stein
    understood, user experience is important too, so yes, multiple form

    keep in mind that only ONE online express form can be put on a page

    @Katherine Stein: Yes, they will all end up in the same section when you go to Download. If you to download them in separate batches, when you look at the transactions in the overview screen you will see the appeal, you could use that to only select the ones you want for a particular batch. I've done it both ways - I prefer to batch based on date rather than by appeal as that aligns more with how I like to audit, but either works!

    @Aldera Chisholm Thank you! Do all the forms populate gifts into the same online express “download transactions” back end batching system?
