Comment editor's context menu depends on mouse's position in editing box

Options

One teacher reports that he prefers to use the mouse instead of the keyboard when doing copy/paste into a comment text box. Which context menu he gets when he right-clicks in the editor box depends on where the mouse is in the editor box when he clicks.

The editor's context menu includes cut/copy/paste. The browser's menu does not.

(I don't know if this is a quirk of the editor widget generally or something that can be tweaked in the editor's configuration.)

When the mouse pointer is low in the editor box (mouse pointer is an arrow), a right-click open's the browser's context menu.

    HI @Brian Gray -

After reviewing this, we have found this is a quirk of the text editor we are using. It won't create the context menu for the editor unless the cursor is within an actively editable area. Once it leaves that area, it moves back to the browser as having cursor focus.

We'll be leaving this one as is for the time being.

  • @Michael Morrissette - Thanks for checking. I was hoping that you just change the setting in the configuration file for “editor behaves rationally” - but I expected that that's just the way it is.
