Sending link/QR code to download annual giving statements

Options

This year we want to send out a letter to our donors to use a link/QR code we provide to download their annual giving statement through a form which requires them to update their personal information. Has anyone here done something like this or have any suggestions on how to accomplish?

Our organization has added another platform which allows constituents to pay with Paypal, digital wallets, ect. The bonus is that we have QR codes that lead to our giving page that can be displayed/posted. It is meeting the younger crowd where they exist and do life.

You can generate a QR code outside of a specific platform that will follow a link to whatever you want them to fill out. Here is a link for a QR code generator:

I don't quite understand what you mean by “send out a letter to our donors to use a link/qr code we provide to download their annual giving statement through a form which requires them to update their personal info”.

QR code is no big deal, many free tool online can do that, even Google Chrome browser does it too on any webpage you visit that you want to create a QR code for, there are free QR code generator that even allow you to put your company logo in the middle too.

    What I don't understand are:
You send them a letter (what kind of letter? is this letter already the annual giving statement?) in the letter, it takes them to a form, there is no “personal info update” form that RE NXT offer, however, RE NXT does have a donor portal which I believe they can make update, though it requires them to create a login account with your RE NXT instance. You can see a list of portal features:

  • @Alex Wong The letter is to replace the annual giving statement letter and to encourage the donors to give us their updated information. Kind of like dangling a carrot, but I don't see how it would work. Thank you for your input.

If you want them to update info, Donor Portal is the way to go, however, I can understand the reluntance of the user account/login barrier. However, I don't think any org should circumvent security and simply give a link to a form that allows anonymous entry of info.

You can create a form (google form, microsoft form, etc) to ask donor for information that is then received by your org's staff to update info in RE NXT manually, but I don't think you should.

Is there a much more streamline option? Yes, but not off the shelf. You can (or hire programmer who can) create specific forms and automation that: (1) create a form with encrypted key specific for each donor, the link you sent to the donor is unique and specific to the donor (2) when submitting update, the update can then be automated to be directly updating the RE NXT donor record (3) after submission, a donor giving statement is auto-generated and sent as a PDF attachment to donor email address (4) attach the donor giving statement to the constituent record and have action added for this interaction with donor that happened.

Complex work, but can be done if your org willing to pay for it.
