Extension Fields

Options

I want to know is it true that if the field extension column in the import fields is not highlighted yellow, that means i could not add an extension to that field? e.g Like the education field, or could have two major education fields, but have a different extension number, 00 and 01?

Another question I have is for the AddrSendMail. If I have two addresses that I want to import, the first one is the home address (address line, city, zip, state), all the import extension are set to 00 and the second is the mailing address (address line, city, zip, state), all the import extension are set to 01. When I set the extension number for AddrSendMail corresponding to the mailing address, what extension number do I assign to it?

Extension column reactive to you mapping fields. You cannot make it “yellow” or “white”

When you map field that can be 1 to many, the extension serves as the indicator of related fields in the “many” part of the relationship.

So for example, you mapping address info: first field you map as address import id it will have 00 extension, if you then map a city field, the extension will automatically be 00 too. if you map address import id again, or city again, it will automatically assume it is a 2nd address record set, giving it an extension of 01, you can change the extension to match the right field to the right “group of address fields",

But my point, is if the extension number column for that import field is highlighted yellow during an import, does that mean I could not add an extension to that field?

  • @Alex Wong So I would assign 01 to AddrSendMail if the 2nd address is the mailing address in my case, is that correct?

you cannot add extension yourselves in import, it will turn white if it is a 1 to many field that should have an extension

So I would assign 01 to AddrSendMail if the 2nd address is the mailing address in my case, is that correct?

    yes
