BBMS Payment went through but didn't get added to Constituent's record

Options

As I was going through our BBMS disbursement, I realized that a gift that we received and had gone through was not added to the constituent's record. I believe this is because the payment exceeded their pledge and therefore created an exception that I missed. I now want to make sure it's added, but I don't want to re-charge their card. The batch it is a part of has other gifts that were processed fully as well. I have some ideas of how to handle this, but I wanted to go to the community first and ask how you would remedy this without running into any problems!

  • @Kenzie Brown If all of the other payments processed and were entered in RE correctly, then I would just enter this transaction as a gift in RE (in accordance with your data entry policies).

@Kenzie Brown Unless you direct the BBMS platform to charge card again or put it in a batch that you generate transaction payments for you should not have an issue. Just entering the gift on a record or batch does not ‘auto’ charge the card.

As @Christine Robertson said you can enter it in RE. You can do this as a new gift on the donor's record or in a batch. You can get the authorization code and other processing data from the BBMS platform if you want to add that to the gift record.

Thank you for your response! That seemed like the best course of action but just wanted to check and make sure I wasn't missing anything. I'll go ahead and do that!

  • @Christine Robertson Thank you for your response! Sounds like this is the answer!
