How to find constituents that have recently updated their email address

Options

Is there a way to do this in LO? I can query by Interaction, Contact Record Change, but that is a catch-all. I only want to find constituents that have updated their email addy.

This is because of an engagement factor we are using. If a constituent hasn't opened or clicked in 365 days, and they update their email address, that constituent is still filtered out. Does anyone know how Luminate handles constituents that update their email address? This would be very helpful for re-engagement campaigns.

Thanks,

Phil

@Philip Nawrocki This is a little tricky!

I typically recommend unsubscribing anyone who hasn't opened an email after 180 or 365 days (depending on when your re-enagement series are set for). That way, if they make a donation or interact in some manner, they can come back into your email stream.

Another approach would be to create a task to look for the type of operation that would cause an email to be updated (survey, donation, etc), and then bring the email back into your messaging stream.

If either of these approaches aren't acceptable to your organization, you could use modification time as a query or a task. That isn't granular enough just to monitor email changes (catches all modifications) but you could audit this group to see what opportunity/risk it might present.

If the email change is really critical to your organization, I would suggest discussing with our professional services team. It's likely they could create a custom operation that could identify these types of changes.

Finally, if someone hasn't been messaged in over 365 days, you'll want to think about how you bring them back in with your messaging.

  • @Erik Leaver Thanks for the response. I was caught up in all the year end madness!
