Export with Addressee- wife's name first instead of husband

Options

I am currently working on a mailer for my marketing department but they prefer to have an addressee column that has the wife's name first and then the husband's with last name (i.e. “Jane and John Smith”). Which configuration in Addressee can I put to do this and will not mess up single person's name by adding ‘and…’?

@Israel Pena Welcome to the BB Community forums.

That has potential to get messy. Do you have records where spouses have different last names? Are you pulling name field or nickname/preferred name?

Go to configuration > addressee/salutations. Right click somewhere in the right pane and select ‘preview’ addressee/salutation report. That will show you the sample formatting and if it pulls name or nickname, who is first spouse or record name. An “X” in the spouse line for SMART should pull the word ‘and’ with spouse name only if present.

If you don't have the time to add this add/sal to all records for your mailing and to review, it may be easier to sort your mailing list by if spouse name is present or not and use the functions to combine the cells. You can use a formula to put the “and” between the names.
