Raiser's Edge Database View creating out of sequence batch numbers

Recently my team has been experiencing instances where batch numbers are created that don't follow the regular numbering sequence.

For example: Our current batch numbering sequence has numbers starting with 77### however randomly we will get batches created with 118###. We would delete the random batches with 118### promptly however we would still have batches created that continue this number sequence intermittently.
