Connecting PA workflow to RENXT

Options

I could use your help…one of my clients is capturing information on a webform and they want that information to be directed to someone for follow up AND they want the info to be imported into RENXT.

Come to find out their IT person has set up a PA workflow…see below. The workflow is set up to send the info into a spreadsheet in Sharepoint, and to inform someone to follow up.

I asked if they could connect it to import into RE. The IT guy looked but said that he couldn’t find a connector from either Sharepoint or directly from PA to do that. I was wondering if you could tell me how we can make that connection? Thanks for your help.

There's not really an automated way to do this built into RE. You would need a third party to create a routine to grab new updated information from the spreadsheet and then do a traditional import in RE. That sort of thing is possible, but it's complicated and prone to break.

The most surefire way to get this done is to have a human pull this data periodically. I'd recommend getting Importacular or Omatic to set up some custom imports so you can manage all of your data fields in one import routine that would match to existing constituents (assuming they exist). Once a system is built out, adding new dad should be as easy as downloading the spreadsheet, deleting out data that has already been imported (the user will need to keep track of every day/time they pull the data) and then running the import. All of the hard stuff will be figured out when the import profile is built out in whatever tool you use.

  • @Ryan Hyde Really…I thought this is what Power Automate was supposed to be able to do…

Oh, if you have access to PA then this may be a thing. Sorry, not a product I use. I would recommend posting this question in the Facebook RE usergroup as I know there are several PA experts there

  • @Ryan Hyde thanks…yes, I will post it in the FB RE group. Thanks so much!

@Carolyn Copp You should be able to do this with a Sharepoint trigger on approval to write to NXT. How does someone “approve” the information to be added and where should it be added in NXT?

  • @Carolyn Copp This is definitely doable in PA. I just did a flow that updates information in an RE NXT record. You would need a Premium Power Automate license and use the (Blackbaud is what you'll need to search) NXT connectors. You can add it to a Custom Field table using the “Create a constituent custom field” action.

You can check the forums for more information
