Import field name for custom attributes

Options

I created a custom attribute that has custom values in Raiser's Edge NXT database view. Now, I have to import a number of constituents that have this custom attribute. How would I know the field name and the name of the import id field of this custom attribute? I read through the import guide from Blackbaud but nowhere mentions how to handle customized attributes.

  • I'm not sure if I've understood your question correctly but column 2 in the table below shows what the import fields are named for a constituent attribute import. It's not essential to give the columns in your file these headings though - you can call them whatever you like and it just means that you'll have to manually map the fields instead, rather than them being mapped automatically to the field with the matching name)

If you ever want to find out the import field names for a record type, when you're on the import screen and have an import type highlighted, there's a link at the bottom of the screen that says “click here for more information about [whatever type of import you've highlighted]" and that will display a list like this of all the field names and any requirements or restrictions for those fields.
