Milestone Questions

Options

Regarding fundraising milestones I have two questions:

 

1.  Once you set them to activate for new fundraisers - are they retroactive?  Will they be applied to those fundraisers that have already reached the milestone levels for this event?  We are obviously enacting these a bit late.

 

2. Do they replace each other or do some participants show several?  For instance if we have a 1k and 5k milestone, will someone that has raised 5k show both badges?

    Milestones and badges are not retroactive. So if someone has already surpassed a milestone then they won't be acknowledged for the ones they missed.

     

    As for milestone badges, the default ones only display two at the most: self-donor badge and fundraising level badge. If you want to display more than these two badges then you will need to utilize a badging system like we covered in last week's webinar. We have a complete kit that can help you setup a more robuts badging element.

  • There was some recent confusion about this post, so I wanted to add a note to clarify Kent's comment:

    This is correct, in that, if a NEW badge is created, it will not automatically be applied to users who have already passed that milestone amount. However, when a new gift is added to a participant's record, Luminate Online checks to see if the participant has raised enough to achieve the NEW milestone, and whether or not that milestone has already been applied to their record. If the amount raised, meets/exceeds the milestone amount AND the milestone has not already been applied to the record, they will receive the badge/notification email, congratulating them on their achievement.
