Report of odd behavior from student/teacher

I received a report of a problem with one student's submission of a timed assessment before Christmas.

Student says that she answered some of the questions. The assessment auto-submitted when time ran out, but an error message indicated that there was an error during the submission. It's not clear what happened next, but the student said that the assessment auto-submitted again, and she was told that the responses were blank.

I tested the same thing in my fake class. The assessment submitted as expected when time elapsed.

Is it possible to see what happened from the server side?
