Team Captains wanting donor contact information

We have a few Team Captains who continue to request the contact information of the donors from their participants' personal pages so they can send a personal thank you note. We cannot share that information, and we encourage those captains to contact their team members to do it for them. 

 

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and what you do to help the Team Captains understand?

Unfortunately we're at the mercy of the donor's relationship with the participant and not the team captain. The only thing I've seen done in the past is the team captain shared a message and asked team members to share it with their donors on the team's behalf.
