Paypal/Venmo Option in OLX Forms

Hi,

I hoping someone can help me understand why when I have reached out to Blackbaud OLX and finally Paypal themselves that we have had so much trouble making a donation via Venmo thru our OLX donation form.

Blackbaud OLX couldn't help me so they suggested contacting Paypal. Paypal is telling me that you need to have funds in Venmo balance account before making a donation? I have had my Venmo account now for over a year and it is tied to my Amex card (with my ATM as a backup payment method - also been verified). I also had a team member try and she got the same message. She then made a donation via her card (no fund in her Venmo balance) to another nonprofit using Venmo and it went thru no problem at all.

I am seriously at my wits end on why this is happening and have found that Blackbaud OLX and Paypal customer support no help at all…can someone help me with this?

I have since disabled the link to Paypal/Venmo because I don't want our donors experience to be this frustrating. With Giving Tuesday coming up, we were hoping to offer this to our donors.

I recommend reaching out to Venmo's customer support directly to inquire about the specific issue you encountered with making a donation through the OLX form. They should be able to provide more insights and assistance regarding the matter.

In the meantime, since Giving Tuesday is approaching, you might consider offering alternative payment options to your donors, like credit/debit card payments or other secure payment gateways, until the Venmo issue is resolved.
