Facebook donors with connected Participant Center adding to RE

Options

How do you handle the constituent record created when a donor makes a gift on Facebook within a linked Facebook Fundraiser to a participant center? We only receive the donors first/last name and a fake convo.,net email address along with the gift amount. However in RELO you are required to bring that donor in as a constituent in order to process the gift. This is creating hundreds of new constituents in RE and sending our group over our allowed record counts. I do not want to delete them in RE as this will also delete the gift in LO. Does anyone have a work around?

Not really. Only thing we've found to minimize dupes is to Sherlock Holmes who the human is behind that gift (i.e. going to the participant's FB post and clicking through to see what the donor is sharing in their profile), then merge them in RE7 to consolidate them in LO. And honestly, aside from being wildly time-consuming, it still doesn't get us all that many dedupes.

  • @Jeremy Reynolds we do some of that as well but so many are dead ends. I am considering merging them into a single ‘Facebook Donor’ constituent after they are two years old. That way current team raisers are still accurate and participants see the specific donor information. However the TRs that are several years old will only see ‘Facebook Donor’ and not ‘Bob Jones’ in their donor list. We will loose the number of donors but not the funds donated. I'd use the Convio.net email to query and if they have no other data than first/last then they would be merged. Also time consuming but would reduce my record counts.
