Resending Autoresponders?

Options

Sorry if this is a duplicate of question, but I have several TeamRaiser event registrants who are asking us to resend the confirmation emails that they should have received confirming their payment.

It seems that my event participants are enthusiastic about keeping clean inboxes and deleting messages that appear to be automatically generated.  However, after the fact, they change their minds and would like to retain this message as their receipt for their records.

Is there a way to resend such confirmations through the system?  Or should I start looking for another way to duplicate these receipts?  I hope that there is an easy solution that I simply missed during my first year with this system.

Thank you.

  • Hi Katie,

Have you tried regenerating the receipt?  Maybe if you do that it resends the same email?  I have done this before but I can't quite remember if it uses the same autoresponder or not.

Also keep in mind if you regenerate the receipt, then it voids the original receipt and issues a new one (with a new receipt number).  So you would have to make sure the donor realizes the original receipt is void and to use the new one.

I haven't come across a way to resend an autoresponder, but it defintely would be helpful or even a "resend receipt" feature (we save the PDF and email it from our work email to just resend it).

    Cheers,

Meghan, thank you for your quick response to my question.  You know, regenerating the receipt would also be a helpful solution for us.  Unfortunately I have not been able to find a way to do that either.

We are simply looking for a way to offer our event participants proof of payment after they accidentally deleted them or messages got stuck in junk email filter.

I would really appreciate any suggestions that would prevent us from needing to build a completely new system to provide event registrants with assurance that we did recieve their payment and that we are expecting them at our event.

    Thanks forum!

    Hi Katie,

To regenerate a receipt, you can follow these steps:

    1. Go to Constituent 360

    2. Search for the individual and go into their constituent file

    3. Click on the "Transactions" tab

    4. Beside the transaction, click "Regenerate Receipt" and follow the steps.

Remember that this will void the original receipt and issue a new receipt with a new receipt number.  It should be sent with an autoresponder as well.  Or you can just save the PDF of the receipt and email or mail it to them personally.   Maybe sending them the tax receipt is proof of purchase?  You can find the receipt under their transactions tab as well.  Just click "View Receipt" and the receipt will open up in a new window and you can save it.

    Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, we don't have that option because we use Raiser's Edge as our CRM - as opposed to Luminate.  So that receipting function is not built into our system.

Does anyone have a similar set-up or have recommendations/ suggestions regarding how we can easily recreate proof of purchase for event registrants to hold in their records?

    Hi Katie,

Once support has enabled your PDF receipt manager, you'll want to customize the PDF Receipt. There is information and a kit on how to do this on the TeamRaiser Information Center. Here is the direct link to the PDF Receipt setup kit: http://community.convio.com/t5/Community-Manager-Blog/Customize-Your-PDF-Receipt-Free-Kit/ba-p/62968

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks.

It looks like the link above might not be working.  Here is some documentation on the Help site that serves the same purpose on how to build out custom receipts: https://www.blackbaud.com/files/support/helpfiles/luminate-online/help/luminateonline.html#../Subsystems/Setup/Content/Concepts/Receipt_Admin.html%3FTocPath%3DSetup|Create%2520and%2520Manage%2520PDF%2520Receipts|_____0

    Thanks,

    Will
