EOY Campaign Kit

Options

Hi there,

I'm working on setting up my EOY emails and thought I'd try out the 2013 EOY Campaign Kit. (For the past few years, I've been using the design from 2010.)

I really love the new look but have a question about the structure. All of the background and images are set up in the stationery instead of the content of the email. Although it's kind of neat, what I'm finding is that I have to set up numerous stationery templates.

For example, in 2010, I had one stationery version with just a header and background. So, I could customize the email content for donors and non-donors, and use the same stationery for slightly different content changes, like campaign update emails (for both donors and non-donors) as well as the last day of the year email for donors and non donors. (Six emails in all, same starionery template.)

Now I'll have to set up 6 stationery templates for the six different messages. Just curious what the strategy was for putting all of the images in the stationery instead of allowing for different buttons in the email content.

Even though it's more work, I do have to say that I'm excited for the fresh look this year! The Fall and Holiday templates are super cool. I really think it will help boost donations.

Thank you so much!

    Hi Jen,

I'm looking into this right now and have asked the person who designed this to clarify. I'll post back what I find out.

    Thanks Kent!

I also just realized that I can't conditionalize the content with different buttons for nondonor vs. donor as I normally do because the buttons are in the stationery.

Normally, I put conditional content on the donor copy because when they hit "tell a friend," the shared content should show non-donor copy (with a donate button.)

Anyway, not that big of an issue... I can still conditionalize the language enough that it makes sense. I guess this would just be another reason I would advocate for buttons (or sidebars) to remain within the email and not on the stationery.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jen,

So I think the person that built these templates is out of the office but I took a look and there are multiple versions of the stationsary. I believe the one you're using with the buttons in the stationary is ecard version with the big immage at the top. The other template in the kit is more like you're familiar with that enables you to create just one stationary and use it for different emails with different buttons. So I think what you're using is the "ecard" stationary when what you want to use is the "email" stationary.

Oh! I see... yes, of course, that makes sense.

I liked the design of the ecard for our kickoff email, so that's why I decided on that version.

I will be using the other email version for the second reminder from our CEO so it sounds like the structure is more of what I'm used to. That should work perfectly.

Thanks so much for clarifying Kent - it's all clear to me now! :smileyhappy:

    Have a great day...
