DAF Gifts Export Hard Credit Constituent ID and Soft Credit Constituent ID

Options

Could use some help from the jiggery and pokery crew. ?

When we receive DAF gifts, we hard credit the DAF (Benevity, Your Cause) and soft credit the constituent who triggered the gift. At the end of each fiscal year, we take a snapshot of our gift data and would like to see the constituent ID of the hard-credit recipient along side the constituent ID of the soft-credit recipient.

Using a gift export, when I select Constituent ID and Name, the constituent ID and name of the soft-credit recipient populates. My test query contains five gift IDs; the export produces 564 rows. The export is exporting all gifts from each soft-credit constituent IDs associated with the original five gifts selected for the query.

Any ideas? Thanks for your time and thoughts.

  • @Jeannie Goings are you using a gift query, or a constituent query? You can use either type with a gift export but they will produce different results - it sounds like you might be using a constituent query when you need to use a gift query instead.

  • @Alan French I used a gift query with gift export and was so surprised by the output that I double checked the query/export types because I thought I was losing my mind.

  • That is so weird, I can't replicate that in our database - I have 2 rows in the query and 2 rows on the export, even though the soft credit recipient has soft credits on other gifts.

Stupid question maybe, but you've definitely linked the right query to the export?
