Does anyone have a good query/export idea for how to figure out which spouses are missing some daughter relationships in RE?

  • We'd need more information to help you with this.. Do these spouses have their own record, or are they just a relationship?

@Jesse Calagna I'm assuming you mean a way to determine if an relationship record exists on one record, and doesn't exist on the spouse record? I'm not sure how to determine this. I was thinking the best way would be to try to create a relationship query based on the relationship code, but relationship queries don't have tables for spousal information.

I don't know if you can create that as a constituent query, where you use the relationship code of daughter, and output the spousal names and ID as well as the constituent name and ID, and cross-reference the list. I'd imagine sorting by name may make things a littler easier as well.

EDIT: I just tried that suggestion and I think it worked out. I had the constituent info and the spousal info in the output, and sorted by last name so that spouses with the same last name would be listed together.

EDIT2: You may need to adjust your deceased flag. Depending on if you move spousal relationships to non-spousal relationships, you may or may not see both constituent records.

  • Yes I tried this as well but some married spouses have different last names in our database and we are starting with grandparents which have A LOT of relationships

  • Am trying to remember if this was something I've tackled in the past and how I did it.

I think it was not pretty and I blocked it out LOL.

If the spouses each have their own constituent record, I would think that you would have to pull up both their records and then be able to compare side by side what relationships they have linked to their record.

Oh! If it's just about the children/students - at least with this particular question - why not pull up the student record and see if each parent (2-4 of them) are linked to them in relationships. If not, then you know it's one that needs correction.
