I wanted to share an update on the forthcoming Interac support for our MobilePay Terminal devices. We are now targeting full Interac support availability in mid-July.

While you are able to capture an Interac transaction via the test application and new devices today, we do not yet support refunding. Our recommendation is that you do not accept Interac payments for the time being to avoid any potential refund issues until that support is rolled out in July.

  • I just tested interac today and found out that I can't refund it - frustrating! Now we won't be able to take interac payments at our event next week. Also, these need to be flagged in BBMS as debit card transactions not credit card transactions (mine is showing as Mastercard instead of Interac or Direct Debit). This will cause our accountant reconciliation nightmares if this isn't fixed.

    Patty - Thank you for the feedback, its exactly what we are looking for. We had intended to deliver Interac support by mid- to late-June but need to delay by a couple weeks to ensure a more complete experience. I apologize for any frustration

    A couple notes on capabilities we intend to deliver in the new BBMS Portal as part of our July update target. Please let me know your feedback on the below:

    • Update the ‘Account Type’ under transaction search to be ‘Debit Card’ for Interac transactions
    • Add a filter to Transaction Search that will allow you to filter on Interac transactions
