I need to do this frequently. Gift query less clicks than in a constituent query but either works pretty easy. (Gift ID is an option in the Gift fields)

  • We use a gift query today, but I was hoping for a hidden gem.

Gift query is the way to go. No hidden gems unfortunately.

  • I've always found it odd that Gift ID is not an available field on the ‘open a gift’ search form - you'd think ID number would be an essential for any kind of search... luckily you can get around it though:

    • create a gift query with the criterion “Gift ID <ask>”
    • go to the ‘open a gift’ search form
    • click on the binoculars next to “search using query” (at the top)
    • select your query

Now every time you run a gift search, it will prompt you for a gift ID to look for. You'll also need to enter something in one of the other search fields before it'll let you click the ‘find now’ button, but you can just shove a * wildcard in the surname field or something.
