For this past year, as I enter data into the constituent batch (using the same template of fields I created about a year ago) and I do not enter information quickly enough, I get pop-ups which interrupt typing in fields, no matter which field I am in, including said fields below until I tab past them.

Pop-ups for the last name field.

Pop-ups for the Primary Addressee.

And pop-ups for Primary Salutation.

These pop-ups will appear in gift batch if I have both open. It will prevent me from performing any action in the RE Database window if it has appeared in batch.

Also, I cannot leave a blank line (see below) or it will result in the Last Name pop-up. Is there a way to prevent these pop-ups from happening? Is anyone else having this happen? Thank you in advance!! (BTW, I do not get any pop-ups in gift batch-unless I have a constituent batch open and get one of the above.)

Hi @Dana Burton - These pop-ups are related to the fields you have required within your system. I do not know of any way to get around these, other than to put as many as possible of the required fields towards the beginning (left) of your constituent/gift batch.

Ditto @Austen Brown. Put them early in the batch. I have gotten them from time to time.

You can right click at the left edge of the blank row and delete it. That at least allows you to move around the records you've entered.

I'm not sure if changing the settings for when the default fields populate (start new record, click field…) could make a difference. Haven't tried playing with that.

  • When I was using constituent batches, I played around with the order of the fields to have as few pop-ups as possible. I wish I had saved the order, but it was at another organization. I highly recommend developing a template with the fields in their optimal order so you can “Load from Existing Batch” whenever creating a new one to save you time. Also, use keyboard shortcuts like the tab and enter keys to clear pop-ups to avoid wasting time reaching for your mouse.
