Spacing on the PDF receipt and lining up the address block to fit in a window envelope

Options

Hi, I've removed our logo from the receipt and the spacing for the name and address are still too low to fit in a window envelope. So if I print the receipt, I now have to print envelopes with the name and address.

Can the PDF layout be changed?

  • remove the page number and donor name from the top right (maybe move page number to the bottom)
  • move org name, tax ID and address up to the top
  • reduce the spacing between our org info and the name and address
  • move the position of the org logo to the top right and don't make it in-line with text so it can just be in the right corner regardless of where text is placed
    • You could even have a setting that automatically reduces the pixel size to the preferred size to fit, or provide guidance on what the limit should be
  • reduce spacing between gift message and gift details so the receipt can fit on one page
    • I know there are probably some hidden merge fields on those lines, but if you can find a way to reduce the spacing, size, or allow some merge details to share a line (for example a tribute message and benefits wouldn't be on the same gift because benefits are usually part of a purchase, so they aren't going to be tributed to a deceased person)

Thank you for the feedback Sarah

  • More feedback from my boss about the PDF receipt:

    • On the top left our organization name appears with our business number below and then our address. Can we flip it so our name and address are together and the business number is below?
      • Also the CRA web link should appear below the business number, not at the bottom by the signature.
    • The PDF doesn't look like an official tax receipt, can you move all the tax info to the top and then have the gratitude message at the bottom. Don't format it as a letter.
      • Also the boiler plate gratitude message is terrible and doesn't match our language or current best practices. If we're only allowed to have two sentences, we would prefer to write those sentences ourselves.
    • At the bottom is the “Official donation receipt for tax income purposes.” This should be moved to the top and be bold, so it is easy for donors to recognize this is the tax receipt.
    • Last comment for now is about the signature. While I understand I can go into photoshop and include the sign off, name and position of our CEO and then upload that image, the issue is getting the font size just right so it looks like it is part of the receipt and not an image we added in. That makes it look illegitimate.

While I understand there may be limitations, moving the pieces around so tax info is all together is very important.

As for giving us the ability to add a short gratitude message, sign off, name and position of our CEO; these could be fields we fill in separately that your system can then use as merge fields.

I hope these changes can be applied. As it is laid out right now, I don't think we can use this as an official receipt. Thank you.
