French Tax Receipt Issue in LO

Options

We noticed an issue with our French tax receipt with the “issue_date” field which pulls the donation date in. When the system adds the date to the receipt, it also adds the copy “Date de publication" before the actual date.

In the image below, I highlighted in blue what it adds and this is not in my PDF file at all. This is not happening on the English side of the receipt, just the French. I have had a ticket open with Support since the beginning of September 2021, but no fix yet.

It has worked in the past with other receipts, so not sure what caused it to start doing this. Has anyone else experienced this? Any workarounds or suggestions?

I tried checking the product catalog to see if I could change the label system-wide and then I would remove my label in my PDF file but I can't find it in the catalogue.

  • Hi Meghan :)

Have you tried using transaction_date_only as the input field instead?

  • Or sorry, technically I think you'd want transaction_date_only_FR_CA

  • Hi Hilary,

Thank you so much for the suggestion! I hope all is well with you!

We are using “issue_date” because that date could change if the receipt is reissued (partial refund or regenerated receipt) so this will show the new date if that happens. Then below it we are using the “transaction_date” to show the date of the actual donation. Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requires both dates on the receipt unfortunately.

It is so strange as it was fine for other French receipts I have setup in the past, but now any new receipts I add have this issue. I need to setup several more French receipts but I have been holding off because of this issue.

    Meghan
