Paypal on OLX Forms

My organization is looking into creating a Paypal account for an additional paying option for our constituents. However, I was hoping to get a few questions answered before we did this.

1. Are the paypal transactions included in the BBMS disbursement reports?
2. Are the transactions included in the credit card batch to import constituent data into BB? If not, does Paypal offer an easy way to reconcile the month donations?
3. Does BBMS disburse the donation amount or does it come directly from Paypal?
4. Did you see an increase in donations once you added Paypal as an option?

Hi @Erica Austin - The answers to your questions are below:

1. PayPal transactions are not included in BBMS disbursement reports. You will need to log into your PayPal account to get a transaction report.
2. PayPal transactions will be included in the OLX transaction download window. You can control how these transactions are downloaded into a gift batch, with other credit card transactions or into a separate batch.
3. As mentioned above, you can view transaction reports in your PayPal account to reconcile gifts. It is very easy to find the transactions in PayPal as they are marked with “Blackbaud” in the custom field.
4. The funds ‘live' in PayPal. You will need to manually withdraw funds from PayPal into your org's bank account.
5. At my last organization, when we started using the PayPal additional payment option through Blackbaud Checkout we found that donors appreciated having the additional option as shown by the percentage of donors choosing to pay with PayPal.

How can I control the transactions to download into separate batches? The gift information box displays “Visa/Mastercard/Paypal” but is there something else?

Hi @Kate Sklodowska - The good thing about OLX is that you can control the entire process. Using what is displayed in the Download Transaction window for pay method, you can make the determination on what and how to download (create a batch, use an existing batch as a template, use an existing open batch).

I would recommend you process Credit Card transactions first, mark the checkbox next to each transaction, review, and download them into a new/open batch (depending on your standard process). Finally, repeat the process for any remaining PayPal transactions, but download them into a different new/open batch (depending on your standard process).
