FInding the corpus of a fund

Options

Hi all,

I'm trying to find out how much money is in an endowed fund- I assumed this would be easy but unfortunately it seems that not the case. Our accounting person is out until the end of the month and I've got a annoyed donor who doesn't understand why I don't have that information readily available. Thanks!

Making the assumption that all your donations to that endowed fund are in RE. You should be able to do a constituent or gift query for the fund to pull the info.

If you just need $ figures, I suggest going to Records > Funds and opening the fund in question. At the top of the fund window, click View to get the dropdown menu. Choose Summaries > Fund Summary. You can select specific dates/gift types if needed (if you have pledges and pledge payments be sure to select 'use gift balance instead of gift amount' to avoid double counting. After you click Finish you have a quick summary of the fund. Total committed is right in the center of the screen.

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
  • Hello, thanks so much! Unfortunately, the issue is that the fund spins off a certain amount every year to host a lecture, so the gifts made to the fund isn't necessarily what is in the fund in real time. I need to know how much is left in the fund as of today, not how much the fund has raised overall. I'm not sure if Raiser's Edge can give me that info. Thank you anyway and apologies if I misunderstood your response.

  • Thank you, that is what I was assuming. Appreciate it!
