EOY campaign questions

Adam and/or Patrick,

Does the theme of the EOY have to be linked to the holidays? I'm sure we'll wish our constituents seasons greetings within the emails and eCard but how neccessary it is to link the holidays with the campaign theme or subject line? For example, I'm thinking of using the theme "Gearing Up for the 81st" to instill in our constituents the need for their advocacy and donations for the 81st Legislative Session which begins January 13th.

it's more important to think about your audience and what motivates them than it is to tie this campaign to the holidays.

The timing of the end-of-year campaign is important because of their last chance to give before end of year -- but the theme should definitely be a theme that resonates with your audience -- and in this case, I think your theme about gearing up before the next legislative session is a great idea!
