Profile Updates for Global Opt Out in BBNC

Options
Hi, all -

We just started sending emails out through BBNC and are noticing that when a constituent opts out of all emails going forward, the 'Requests no email' box on Bio1 is checked automatically, but it still creates a Profile Update in the NetCommunity plugin within RE. A user has to click on this to dismiss it every time, even though there is no action needed. Is there a way around this? I read KB50295, and it sounds like this is just a fact of life. ? Hoping that's not the case...any tips appreciated!

KB50295:

"If a recipient marks the global opt out of a message which used a Constituent List, the Requests No Email box is automatically marked on their record on the Bio 1 tab. A Profile Update is sent into the plugin. Clicking the Profile update in the plugin will clear it from the plugin."

Thanks!

  • Why do communication/solicitation consents appear in Profile Updates and not in Unprocessed Consent Records?

This causes an unnecessary delay in event registration processing because we have to either process or dismiss "changes" to the record.
  • Amelia, I'm not sure why they make you process the consent records - BUT what we did learn (through error) was that if you go and uncheck that “Requests no Email” but leave the transaction unprocessed in the holding tank - that person will still be opted out as far as BBNC knows.

It appears that the transaction that sits in the holding tank in RE needs to be processed so BBNC is up to date, but the check mark that appears is only relevant to how that records is opted in or out in RE. Does that make sense?
