Raiser's Edge to Sage Intacct Integration

Options
We're implementing Raiser's Edge NXT and moving off of Colleague Advancement. Our Accounting Department is implementing Sage Intacct. Looking to see how others are setting up Funds and G/L distribution entries and easing integration efforts with Finance.

Any insights would be much appreciated!

Thank you,

-Walt

Walter Tate‍, our finance office uses Sage Intacct and we just dipped our toe out of the dark ages. We were sending batch reports as PDFs with backup and they were being manually entered by Finance. I set up an export and used Power Query to format all the gifts entered for the past week into a pivot table that they can more easily use to add the information to Intacct. While I did our fund transformation to line up with Finance in Power Query I think you could use the GL distribution fields on fund records to make sure you export the correct information for Finance.

I was provided a sample import file by Finance, but there were some lines with totals that needed to be added and I was not able to get that done automatically. I am sure there is an easier way to do all this, but right now this process is saving us both a lot of time.
  • We use Financial Edge and Raisers Edge together but years ago before the two were integrated I did manual imports. We set up our RE Funds to match our Financial System project numbers. We also set up our GL Account numbers to be what we needed them to be on the financial side.
  • @Dan Snyder Hi Dan. I came across your post because our organization is moving to a new financial system (Sage Intacct). We've been running a daily batch export from RE to excel, which is then manually totaled/manipulated and entered into our dinosaur accounting system (hence the switch to Sage). We want to get to a less-manual process for time-saving and error reduction.

I've been trying to use the debit/credit features on the Fund level, as you suggest, but having some issues because our revenue (credit) account varies based on the appeal and even the payment method.

I'm curious if you've learned more or found better ways since you posted this initially. I'd love to know how you are using RE + Sage today. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Hi Walter. Our organization is implementing Sage Intacct. I'm curious what you ended up doing to ease the integration with RE. Any insight you've gained since your initial post would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • @Autumn Steiner Omatic Software has a robust tool called PostOmatic for integrating RE NXT with Sage Intacct (or any other non-Blackbaud finance system). It eliminates the need for any and all manual manipulation of gift data coming out of RE NXT, and can leverage the data in your RE Fund GL Distribution grids (or, doesn't have to use those data). Please let us know if we can furnish you with further information. info@omaticsoftware.com or stu.manewith@omaticsoftware.com

  • @Stu Manewith Thanks, Stu. I will be at BBCon next week. I would be interested in learning more. Will you be there?

  • @Autumn Steiner I don't really have anything else to add but was going to mention PostOMatic as an option if you wanted to look into it. The process we have now works so we are just sticking with it.

  • @Autumn Steiner – Yes, the Omatic team will be at BBCON this week and has a large presence in the Exhibition Hall. In addition, the Omatic team will be presenting a number of BBCON sessions. Please do stop by our booth to learn more about PostOmatic. I will not personally be at BBCON, but please feel free to ‘drop’ my name as a referral ?.
