Data Audit

Options
Hi Everyone,

I work at an independent school on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. British Columbia has some very strict privacy laws about communicating with constituents and I have been tasked the job of performing an audit of our data in Raiser's Edge 7 database.

I am seeking help and support to see if anyone has perform a data audit of their database and see if I can pick your brain as to where to start or if you can offer up any suggestions to help me with this.

Thank you in advance

  • Hi Gemma Atkinson‍, I can't say I have great data audit tips for this specific situation without know what you are dealing with currently? Do you have information about prior opt-outs in notes? actions? just the solicit code on the record? somewhere else?

In terms of going forward, I would highly recommend using the Consent module as there are a lot of customizable options that will automatically add or remove solicit codes, as well as an area where you can add notes about why the changes were made. We used to add the solicit code and a separate note, but are now able to get that all accomplished through the consent records. Here is a good KB article with links to further information about how consent works.
  • Hi Gemma,
We are just getting into Blackbaud, but data audits are
something I would like to learn more about.

    thank you
