Best way to show gifts on donors record and the supporter's record that they are donating to

Options
Hello!. I wanted to know the best way for us to add donors that have sponsored someone, e.g. a challenge events fundraiser, so that we can see the person who has donated, who they have donated to and the fundraiser they have donated to in best way. The fundraiser then needs a total on their record for how much they have raised. We have tried using the tribute tab as soft crediting gifts could make the fundraiser's record look very messy and hard to decipher which gifts they have made and which have been donate to them.

Thank you!

The fundraiser data can be tracked by entering them as the assigned solicitor/fundraiser.  Reports > Analytical > Solicitor Performance Report will list all the donors they asked and amount. Can be use to show those they haven't gotten gift from yet too.

Who they sponsored/donated on behalf of isn't a built in. I've used reference field.  Putting name in the field. This may be best option if sponsored individuals do not have records in db.  I've also used gift attribute. Category could be Person Sponsored and the description field could be a look up of sponsored name - assuming sponsored individuals have records in db.

I didn't have tribute module then. I think Tribute could work if sponsored individuals have records in db - still learning about that module. You'd need to select the tribute as a gift attribute ideally when entering gift.

My recommendation would be not to use soft credits. If your org hasn't defined what SC are for your use, you should. Nothing in your description meets definition of SC for orgs I've worked for.
