Inherited Database - Issues with spouse record - both are employees but only one record

Options

Inherited database

Doing more data clean up. Noticed that wife is an employee and she doesn't have a record, but she is listed as a non-constituent record on her husband's record. They're past parents, but the wife is an employee and they are sill married.

The school's policy one record per parent (if they are married). The other parent has a non-constituent record. On the record mentioned, the constituent code on the husband's record is - "Past-Parent (date from & to); Current Staff (date from).

I've noticed inconsistencies where (in one case) both husband and wife are employees and they both have records and another case both spouses are employed at the school but only one has a record. Giving goes to one record, even though both give via employee giving.

Not sure why they do this to be honest, but in thinking about reports (and they have asked me questions) and why some things aren't coming out correctly, how does one begin to open up "pandora and her box". Thanks in advance!

What if you switch the employee's placement on the joint record and make her the primary listing?
  • Hi Austen!

I hope all is well. I was thinking about doing that one.

Take care, be safe and have a good day!

    Thanks!
