Grant Proposals

Options
Hello all,

How do you track your grant requests as you enter data?  When you are submitting grant requests, do you create a "Grant Request" as an appeal or is it tracked in the Proposal tab? I am sure the answer is "do it however you think it should be done" but I am looking for best practices.

Thanks

  • Proposals is definitely better than Appeals.  Proposals lets you link Solicitors, Actions, Media, and specific Contacts, along with amounts/dates asked, expected, and funded.
  • We do not have the proposals module so we have used actions to make it work for us.  We can track when grant apps were submitted, attach the application/proposal, when we get notified it moves to awarded/declined.  We then use actions for mid-reports and final reports, uploading all docs to the action.  We use the action attribute (custom fields in NXT webview) to add the ask amount, what for (fund/program) and the project ID if a college project.  It has worked well for us to the point that I'm not sure we would spend the money for the proposal module.  However, we are a small shop so that makes a difference as well I'm sure.
