Scheduled reports - can't edit the email.

Options
I am blown away. I try not to let Blackbaud blow me away with surprises anymore but this one has my head shaking.

In Webview in reports - I can click on the little clock and schedule a report. Once I save it - I can't make any changes to what I saved... ever. If I need to add another recipient, remove a recipient, fix a misspelling in the message I sent - no go, no changes.

The "workaround" is to have all recipients "unsubscribe" to the original message so you can then schedule a new one. UM WHAT.??? AND... I can't actually see who unsubscribed or not. I just have to chase people down, trust them that they did this and/or hound them until they do. I have to go to my Executive level folks and ask them to personally do an unsubscribe because I misspelled a word and I don't want that in the email that is sent out EACH AND EVERY WEEK. I would have to do this every time there is turnover and I need to add or remove someone. This is RIDICULOUS.

I can't be more disappointed that this is the situation.

PS - I got this information from BB support and testing it myself - if anyone knows of other information I am not considering, please tell me. I really want to be wrong on this.

  • Sadly Melissa, you are not wrong.  This is the reason I don't use the email option.  I'm not even going to use the term functionality as is is NOT functioning.

    sigh...
  • Hey thanks for the heads up.  Good to know. Yet another thing those in my office who have been told this "works" will have to be disappointed to not actually be able to use yet.  At least when they come to me saying "Can you please create auto emailed reports" I will have the reason ready why we have to wait.

I hate being suspicious, but sometimes I feel like Blackbaud finishes those items in NXT that most impact gift processing and database management just enough to be able to say it has that functionality, leaving the fall out from it being only half done to we Database Managers to clean up.  We have big shoulders.   Constituent management seems well developed, which is nice for our Development staff.

I had to laugh at your statement, Melissa, that you try not to be surprised anymore.  ?  I think that is a healthy goal for me to aspire to.
  • Stumbled onto this issue today. NO WAY to amend the schedule?? Ridiculous.

  • Hi @Jennifer Boettger,

It's Elizabeth, one of the Community Managers. I reached out to our developers to ask which idea you and others on this thread could vote on to influence the priority of this need. Here it is:
